Hong Kong Taoist Association Wun Tsuen – Meet the Artist

Via interactive activities, Ms Hoshan Hong, the illustrator of Little Mushroom Story Books, introduced the design and making process of Little Mushroom story books. The workshop also included basic character design concepts, Little Mushroom characters’ characteristics and temperaments. Hoshan also taught the children how to learn emotional intelligence when reading the story books. Before the end of the session, students learned the way to draw wonderful Little Mushroom on their own. It was indeed an interesting, happy and educational lesson for all!

Kindergarten Partner Schools Teacher Workshop – 2nd Workshop

During the two-hour Workshop, teacher participants learned more about how to be good story tellers, how to teach body language, verbal expressions, positive self-talk and role-play for the emotional intelligence education. Teachers shared in the post-workshop questionnaire that they would be more confident in sharing the teaching methodologies with the peers in school and pledged to make good effort in emotional and affective education.

Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Sau Nan Primary School – Teacher Workshop

(Topic:Whole School Approach to Emotional Intelligence Education)

Via active participation and discussion, teachers shared their roles in students’ mental health and emotional intelligence education. More than 95% of the participants supported systematic implementation of emotional intelligence education in their school. Besides, English panel and Guidance Team members introduced how they would collaborate in nurturing students’ emotional well-being in 22-23 school year.💕

Via active participation and discussion, parents knew more about the importance of emotional intelligence education and how Guideposts Kindergarten (Tuen Mun Branch) promoted mental health of their children. They all agreed modeling of parents and cultivating harmonious family culture are important in nurturing children’s emotional intelligence. We are delighted to know in the questionnaire that most of them had pledged to make effort to be EQ parents.💕

Primary Schools Joint School Teacher Workshop

Joint School Teacher Workshop on Effective Teaching and Active Learning of Emotional Intelligence via Little Mushroom Story Books was successfully conducted by Dr Hong Lo Chi Chun on 9th September, 2022, Friday in the school hall of PLK Ho Sau Nam Primary School.

More than 30 English teachers and school administrators were highly engaged in the two-hour workshop. Via interactive activities, teachers understood more about the effective teaching and active learning methodologies to promote children’s emotional intelligence on one hand and enhance their language proficiency on the other. The majority of the participants agreed that the workshop was fruitful for their personal and professional development.

Kindergarten Partner Schools Teacher Workshop – 1st Workshop

More than 20 teachers and principals actively participated in our two-hour Kindergarten Partner Schools Teacher Workshop session. With interactive dialogues and discussions, participants got more insights about the importance and urgency of emotional intelligence education amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 21st century. Through effective teaching and learning methodologies, children are guided to recognize their personal and others’ emotions, learn to better communicate and manage emotions. This help them to enjoy happy and healthy lives. Teachers enthusiastically shared their opinions in the chat rooms and all of them considered the workshop fruitful and beneficial to their personal and professional development.

HK Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School – Parent Seminar

(Topic:“Be an EQ Parents, Promote Emotional Intelligence at Home”)

A parent seminar for HK Taoist Association Wun Tsuen School was conducted by Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun on 21st May, 2022. During the two-hour seminar, parents actively participated in the discussion and shared their opinions with Dr. Hong.

Parents indicated in the questionnaire that the seminar was meaningful and fruitful. All the parents agreed that the implementation of emotional intelligence education in school can help children grow up healthily. The seminar also inspired them how to be an EQ parent and the ways to enhance their children’s emotional intelligence in daily life.

NTW&JWA Sheung Shui Nursery School – Parent Seminar

(Topic:“Be High EQ Parents, Foster Your Children’s Emotional Intelligence”)

Amid severe pandemic, HK families are facing unprecedented challenges. An online parent seminar for NTW&JWA Sheung Shui Nursery School was conducted by Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun on 5th March, 2022. During the two-hour online seminar, parents actively participated in the discussion and shared their opinions in the chat room.

Parents indicated in the questionnaire that the seminar was successfully held and they were inspired to make effort to be EQ parents. More than 60% of the parents were interested in participating in online parent workshops to learn more about the ways to enhance their children’s emotional intelligence in daily life.

《Little Mushroom: Emotional Intelligence For Children》- 2nd Kindergarten Online Introductory Session 2022-2023

The 2nd Kindergarten Online Introductory Session was held on Saturday 26th February, 2022. Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun shared the importance of Emotional Intelligence education, teaching and learning methodologies and introduced the Little Mushroom course books and teaching materials to more than 30 kindergarten teachers, principals and vice principals.

During the two-hour session, most participants were enthusiastic in sharing their opinions and responding to questions, leaving more than 150 pieces of response in the chat room. Over 30% of the participants indicated in their feedback that they will seriously consider to adopt Little Mushroom course books in the new school year and become our partner schools.

The 2nd Primary School Online Introductory Session was successfully held on Saturday 19th February, 2022.
Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun introduced the Little Mushroom story books and teaching materials to more than 30 participants. During the introductory session, most participants were enthusiastic in sharing their opinions and responding to questions in the chat room.

All participants agreed that Little Mushroom story books could cater for the “Values Education Curriculum Framework” introduced by the Education Bureau. Moreover, the participants indicated in their feedback that the workshop enhances both their personal and professional development.

《Little Mushroom: Emotional Intelligence For Children》- Kindergarten Online Introductory Session 2021-2022

The Kindergarten Online Introductory Session co-organised by Little Mushroom Emotional Intelligence Education Charitable Foundation and the New Territories School Heads Association was successfully held on Saturday 22nd January, 2022.

Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun shared the importance of Emotional Intelligence education and introduced the Little Mushroom course books and teaching materials to kindergarten principals, vice principals and teachers.

Dr. Hong shared that the HK Education Bureau introduced the “Values Education Curriculum Framework” to all educational institutions in November, 2021, encouraging schools to foster the development of positive values and attitudes among students. Little Mushroom course books, first printed in 2017 , cater for Ten out of eleven priority values and attitudes advocated, including “perseverance”, “care for others”, “empathy” and “diligence” etc.

Dr. Hong appealed to all principals and frontline teachers to join hand to nurture emotional intelligence among students, act as EQ teachers and cultivate EQ school campus for the healthy development and well being of children.

All participants indicated in their feedback that the workshop enhances both their personal and professional development.

《Little Mushroom: Emotional Intelligence For Children》- Primary School Online Introductory Session 2021-2022

The Primary School Online Introductory Session co-organised by Little Mushroom Emotional Intelligence Education Charitable Foundation and the New Territories School Heads Association was successfully held on Saturday 15th January, 2022.

Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun introduced the Little Mushroom story books and teaching materials to 30 primary school principals, vice principals, counseling teachers and social workers. During the two-hour session, most participants were enthusiastic in sharing their opinions and responding to questions, leaving 169 pieces of response in the chat room.

In 2021 November, the Education Bureau introduced the “Values Education Curriculum Framework” to all schools, encouraging them to foster the development of positive values and attitudes among students. Little Mushroom story books can cater for the “Values Education Curriculum Framework” . Ten priority values and attitudes, including “perseverance”, “care for others”, “empathy” and “diligence” etc are nurtured. We also encourage schools to implement active learning and enhance students’ language skills via Little Mushroom story books.

The workshop – Enhancing Children’s Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Health-organised by WoFoo Community Hub was held on Saturday 8th January 2022. Dr. Hong Lo Chi Chun was invited to share the significance and importance of Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Health to the kindergarten principals, vice principals and teachers.

The systematic teaching materials of Little Mushroom can cater for the “Values Education Curriculum Framework” initiated by the HK Education Bureau.
